Foodie Pen Pals!!

I recently discovered the Foodie Penpal program run by Lindsay over at The Lean Green Bean and signed up just in time to participate in September!

To participate, you sign up on her site before the 5th of every month and are assigned a penpal. You pick foodie goodies and send them to your pal by the 15th while another participant sends you goodies. On the last day of the month, everyone reveals their packages!

Guess what that makes today? Reveal day!

My penpal this month was the lovely Natalie at In Natalie's Shoes

I was oh so excited when I saw a giant package waiting for me on my front steps and couldn't wait to get into it. I swear it's like being a kid on Christmas!

Now let's get into the good stuff. The first thing I saw was a super cute card with a handwritten explanation of all of my goodies.

I read through each description as I carefully unwrapped each item from its newspaper cushioning:

- Simply Balanced Raspberry Fruit Strips: These delicious and organic individually wrapped fruit strips were super yummy. Since I hadn't had lunch, I immediately dug into the box and gobbled down one of these treats. Totally reminiscent of those fruit roll-ups at the grocery store that I begged for as a child.. but I bet these are actually kind of good for you :)

- Nature's Valley Almond Crunch bar: Natalie suggested these super crunchy granola bars as a quick breakfast and I'd have to agree.. as long as you're not munching on them in a quiet office :) Tasty, nutritious, and filling!

- Marshall's Farm Napa Valley Wild-Flower Natural honey: This all natural honey (the best kind!) came from a farm near Natalie's hometown of Napa Valley, CA.

Cinnamon Honey Sticks: These honey sticks are from the same farm as the honey above and flavored with cinnamon (think red-hots rather than cinn-rolls). I'm sure you're supposed to put them in your tea or something else similarly dignified but I just cut off the end and sucked it down like candy! SO good. Seriously, amazing.

- Farmhouse Ranch Dressing Mix: This was a handmade herb mixture from The Handmade Pantry. You just add buttermilk, sour cream, and mayo and you have a delicious homemade ranch dressing. Perfect for dipping with...

- ...Pringles! Natalie included a few snack packs of Pringles in both original flavor and sour cream & onion (my fav!) to dip into the homemade dressing. Can't wait to try!

- Oreos & Chips Ahoy: A few packs of Oreos and Chips Ahoy were also included in the package. What girl can say no to cookies??

- Peanut butter! Natalie listened to me when I told her I love peanut butter. These adorable and convenient containers are perfect for dipping cookies.. which is exactly what she intended!

A big big BIG thank you to Natalie for this wonderfully amazingly yummy foodie package! Can't wait to do this all again next month!!
